Carrick on Shannon natives Catherine Murray and Kate Bohan both struck gold when they came across one another on the dating site Plenty of Fish back in 2013, little did they know at the time that it would lead to a lifetime of love. The couple have just bought a house together in Rooskey, Roscommon.

Kate popped the question in the most romantic way possible, she brought Catherine to Strandhill beach in Sligo to get down on one knee and organised a photographer to discreetly take snapshots of this precious moment for the happy couple to treasure forever.

The blushing brides chose to celebrate their big day at Castle Dargan Hotel with 80 of their closest friends and family.

THE WEDDING TEAM

The brides both wore fabulous bridal gowns from Creative Ideas Bridal.

The floral arrangements were designed and created by the wonderful Geraldine Monaghan. Sharon Sweeney of Cannaboe Confectionery, Ballinamore Co. Leitrim created the wedding cake.

Ceremony music was provided by the talented Michelle Feeney and the band Scruffy Duffy played in the evening.

Gemma Crossan did the brides’ hair on the morning of the wedding and Aisling Leydon beautified the ladies with her makeup skills. Aisling Curran of Sligo Civil Registration officiated the wedding ceremony.

Kathy Lyons Photography captured the couple’s special day perfectly and Fauve Chapman of FauveLouFilms filmed the day wonderfully.

FAVOURITE MEMORY

“The whole day was perfect, I guess our favourite memory was saying I do of course,” the brides echoed.

The newlyweds shared their first dance to Ed Sheeran’s ‘Tenerife Sea’.

PERSONAL TOUCHES

Catherine and Kate chose to do a sand ceremony instead of the usual candle lighting in a traditional ceremony. It was something different that many of their guests had never seen before. They also made their own table numbers.

The happy couple jetted off to Fuerteventura on their honeymoon.
