Damien and Keith’s online connection leads to lifetime

Damien and Keith’s online connection leads to lifetime
August 18, 2017 – the g Hotel, Galway

Damien and Keith got married at the g Hotel in front of 150 guests last August after a seven-year blissful romance. The couple, who live in Athlone with their two Jack Russell’s (Molly and Sandra), had their first date at the Olive Grove in the Westmeath town.

They also visited an old church on that date and Damien felt that it was the perfect place to propose to Keith on his 32nd birthday five years later.

The Wedding Team
The grooms wore navy tuxedo style suits with black lapels. Damien chose a classic black silk tie and Keith wore a slightly oversized bowtie. The shirts and bowtie were tailor-made by Garbeau and the shoes were from Dune.  The groomsmen wore black suits in the same style as the happy couple.  The groomsmaids wore white tea length dresses that were purchased from Ellie & Dal in Galway.

Nicola McGuire was chosen to provide the music for both the wedding ceremony and drinks reception, while The Weightless Astronauts entertained the guests after the meal. Trevor from Midland’s DJ’s then took over the entertainment that had everyone dancing long into the night.

Gary Barrett Photography and Dreamcatcher Productions were in charge of capturing the day. The couple’s first dance had a unique twist. In a deliberate move, Damien and Keith went for Johnny Logan’s Hold Me Now. With people thinking that it was their first dance song, the music was cut short and It’s Raining Men by The Weathergirls came on to finish the opening dance.

For their honeymoon, the lovebirds went to Tropical Sky and they organised an amazing 22-night trip that saw them visit Cancun, San Diego, California and Las Vegas.

Favourite memories Both Damien and Keith had many amazing memories from the day. Damien opted for the dinner and speeches, while Keith said that chatting to Ian Dempsey on the radio that morning topped off the months of planning that went into their special day.
Can you tell us in a few words how great the g Hotel was for your wedding? The g Hotel was just unbelievable. Triona, Maura, Joe, Tarron and all the team gave us a wedding that only dreams are made of.  From the very first time we stood inside the door of the g Hotel their hospitality, professionalism and can-do attitude was just incredible. There was no request (of which there were many!) too big or small for them. Amongst other things, they sourced our favourite craft beer, Mescan Blonde from Westport. for the drinks reception and they matched the table.
