Two Brides are Better Than One – Your Guide to Lesbian Bridal Attire

By Sarah McBrien

Tradition states that every girl must dream of walking down the aisle in a glorious white dress fit for a Disney princess. In reality however, this is not always the case. More and more couples are choosing to reject such expectations and have their wedding attire suit them and their relationship, not tradition. With that in mind, we’ve put together some of our favourite same-sex wedding looks that are sure to give you some inspiration for your own big day.

The new traditional: For those of you who love the classic look of the suit and gown together, this timeless formula is easily adaptable to the modern couple. A good tailor is all you need as female suits can be a little more difficult to find. Or, if you like the look of pants but don’t want to wear a suit, a form-fitting jumpsuit makes a show-stopping alternative!

The double dress: If you both want to live your dream dress moment, finding two dresses that complement each other can be a little tricky – especially if you don’t want to see each other in your dresses before the big day. When it comes to wedding dresses there are seemingly infinite shades of white, so work with your partner and your stylist to find dresses in the same or different shades that will photograph well together. Or do away with the white tradition and go for a coloured dress! We love this modern spin on traditional bridal attire as it gives so much personality to your look.

The two-tux look: If you would both prefer to do away with a wedding dress for your day, then the two-tux trend is for you. You can choose to match your suit to your partners or complement each other’s looks with accent colours or prints. Many designers have also come out with fabulous wedding jumpsuits if you want to mix up the pants look.
