A delightful day in Doolin for Colma and Jennifer

It was in Doolin, Co. Clare that Colma Lineen and Jennifer Nolan would go on their first date together, which would be the beginning of a loving 14 year relationship. “When we got engaged, everyone asked ‘so who asked who?’. It might sound silly, but it didn’t happen like that for us. In our case, it was the country that asked that question with the Marriage Equality vote, and when the majority of Ireland answered YES in 2015, well, that was our answer,” Colma shared.

Wedding Details

Wanting to come full circle and get married where they had their first date, the soulmates booked their 2-day Wedfest to be in the Wedding Barn in the luxurious Hotel Doolin, Co. Clare for Monday, July 23, 2018.

Award-winning photographer Olga Humphries from Mrs. Redhead Photography was there on the day to capture stunning shots of the ladies.  It was the fantastic Dreamcatcher Productions that turned the ladies’ love story and wedding into film, recording throughout the day in a discreet and professional manner. Wedding decorators Grace Events, helped Colma and Jennifer transform the venue for their magical day. Flowers were provided by West Clare Flowers, who made sure that every petal on every flower of every bouquet was perfect for the girls.

The amazing ceremony was officiated by Miriam Fitzgerald from Spiritual Ceremonies and the girls couldn’t have been happier having chosen her to be part of their day. The ladies’ stunning wedding gowns were from Vows in Blarney, while their fabulous shoes came from renowned fashion designer Christian Louboutin. Behind the flawless make-up of the day was Body Treats, Co. Clare, while hair was skillfully styled by Louise Byrne Mobile Hair Stylist.

Inishowen Gospel Choir made sure that the ceremony was filled with soul and romance through their velvety harmonies; and later guests let loose thanks to wedding band The Ratzingers who made sure the dance floor was full and kicking until the early morning.  Fun Times Vintage Dressup supplied all the fancy dress outfits for the evening. It was hilarious watching everyone in their beautiful wedding gear turning into their alter egos and hitting the dancefloor.

How was your experience with Mrs Redhead Photography?

“Olga from Mrs Redhead was a superstar and fit in with all of our family and friends like she’d known them forever. She got involved with all the guests and even dressed up alongside them. She took such natural photos and knew all the local places to go to get the best view. We’re absolutely delighted with the official photos that she took. It’s no surprise that she just won ‘Wedding Photographer of the Year 2018’, as she has such a talent, and truly deserves that accolade”, Jennifer shared.

Special  touches

One of our nieces came up with the idea to get Pride Wing Mirror Covers for family and friends arriving to Doolin by car. It was the most exciting journey ever, looking out for pride flags coming from all different directions on the motorway and the country roads. The result was a convoy of cars with pride flags arriving into Doolin on the same day as us. It was such fun! The Hotel had the pride flag up outside all week; and for the two days before the wedding, our families and friends were sporting different versions of flags whether it was on their jumper, their runners, their kids or even on their dogs… Loved it all!”, Colma shared.
