Spectacular New Year’s Eve inspired ideas

New Year’s Eve is a fantastic night to have a wedding; everybody is in the mood to celebrate and what better way to ring in the New Year than with a brand new husband or wife. We’ve put together a list of the best New Years Eve wedding ideas from across the globe.

Glitter

Add a touch of sparkle to your wedding day. Whether you’re going big or small, glitter is definitely in for New Year’s Eve weddings. Whether there’s a light dusting of it throughout the day or it’s thrown in your face as you walk down the aisle, glitter is always good when it comes to New Years Eve. You could even glitz up your bridal party by adding glitter to buttonhole flowers and the wedding party attire; it could even reach your bouquets or buttonholes.

Wedding favours

You could give every guest a pair of “2017” glasses or a hilarious party hat. There are so many options to choose from when it comes to wedding favours, you might as well play on the fact that you’re having your wedding on the biggest night of the year. Think outside the box and set the tone high for 2017.

Prosecco at midnight

This one definitely depends on your budget, but it would be lovely to have a Prosecco toast as the clock strikes twelve. Have the bar serve all your guests with a complimentary glass of Prosecco at about half 11 and they will be absolutely buzzing for the countdown.

New Year’s resolutions

Put up a huge poster with clips on it and have all your guests names and table numbers on it, ask them to take a photo in your photobooth or have a cameraperson there to take a snap. Then they can write their resolution(s) on the back of the photo and swap it for their name on the clip. It’s a really simple idea that will definitely get people thinking; plus you can have fun with your new husband or wife reading the cringeworthy resolutions.

Clock biscuits

This is a super cute idea; give all of your guests a biscuit that has been decorated to look like a clock striking 12. Everyone will appreciate the gesture and it stays with the theme of New Years Eve.  It will make for some adorable Instagram worthy pictures for sure.

Balloon drop

This is a great idea for when the clock strikes twelve. Have a load of balloons drop onto the dance floor to turn your wedding into a New Year’s Eve party. Have your videographer take in the whole room and then zoom into the new years kisses happening on the dance floor to make for an amazing wedding highlight video. It will definitely be a memorable moment and it will keep everybody in the party mood.

A huge rendition of Auld Lang Syne

Having your whole room of guests serenade you with the classic New Year’s Eve “Auld Lang Syne” would be the cherry on top of an excellent New Year’s Eve wedding.
