Tips for surviving a warm weather Irish wedding

Tips for surviving a warm weather Irish wedding

The gorgeous heatwave may be gone (hopefully a short-term thing) but there are still plenty of weddings to enjoy and survive. Here are our top five summer wedding tips.

Create a wedding party survival kit

There is nothing worse than being consumed with sweat at a wedding, so why not have something to counteract it?? A wedding party survival kit is the perfect antidote.

Include things like sunscreen, a travel-size deodorant and face wipes so that your guests can be sweat free if the sun decides to make an appearance.

Stay Hydrated

This is a no brainer. There is nothing wrong with enjoying a few drinks but if the weather is hot, it is vital to stay hydrated throughout the day.

One way of encouraging your guests to keep hydrated is providing non-alcoholic cocktails when they arrive at the venue/reception. They may not stick to this throughout the day and night, but you have tried at least!!

Ice Cream

Need i say more? Ice cream is always a good idea and having a selection of flavours available on the day of your wedding, even if the weather is not your friend on the day.

You could provide an make your own ice cream area for your guests, or you could just go and hire an ice cream van for a couple of hours. Either way, it's sure to be a hit.

A light dinner menu

If the scorching weather forecast is a sure thing (like that ever happens) it might be an idea to move away from the traditional beef or salmon option and try something lighter.

Some grilled food and salads would work a treat. Remember, there is nothing worse than having a full stomach and not being able to get up and dance when the party gets into full swing.
